Transportation Supervisor

Salary:

Starting at $78,000 / yr.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides general oversight of transportation staff and ensures compliance with all Policies & Procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Point of contact for state and federal auditors for all transportation services.
  • Manages a small fleet of vehicles that include:
  • Vans for transporting participants.
  • Corporate & maintenance vehicles for travel between locations, as applicable
  • Oversees the fleet maintenance program, which includes:
  • Preventative maintenance schedules
  • General vehicle maintenance
  • Hydraulic lift maintenance
  • Wheelchair tie-down equipment
  • Acute maintenance issues
  • Coordination of vehicles that need to be moved between locations for maintenance issues.
  • Working with the staff at each location to schedule maintenance appointments
  • Arranging payment for all maintenance services
  • Keeping a record of all maintenance services provided
  • Monitors the fleet tracking system that includes cameras and GPS tracking units.
  • Coordinates and executes all vehicle transactions for Cherry Blosom PACE.
  • Manages all insurance tasks, including:
  • Maintaining an accurate list of vehicles
  • Updating fleet insurance cards
  • Completing all tasks related to motor vehicle incidents and accidents.
  • Maintains current registration for all vehicles.
  • Manages the scheduling and dispatching of all company vehicles.
  • Schedules & monitors all certifications required for staff to complete to transport participants.
  • Serves as the account administrator for the Tripmaster scheduling software, which includes:
  • Keeping an accurate record of current staff
  • Monitoring tablet performance in all vans
  • Running reports as requested
  • Providing general assistance to dispatchers
  • Oversees the fleet fuel account, which includes:
  • Keeping an accurate record of current staff
  • Monitoring fuel card usage
  • Running reports as required
  • Ordering new cards as needed
  • Controls the Center’s budget, including monthly reviews with Finance
  • Works with the Finance department to monitor budget performance.
  • Responsible for appropriate company credit card usage for general transportation needs and services, per Cherry Blossom PACE policy.
  • Responsible for coordination of all outside/contracted transportation service providers.
  • Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Conducts initial and periodic assessments, as needed.
  • Participates in developing the IDT (Interdisciplinary Team) Plan of Care as needed.
  • Completes all documentation related to participant care as needed.
  • Completes all other job duties related to the care and well-being of Participants.
  • Facilitated the development of participant plans of care, and the coordination of 24-hour care delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has significant management responsibilities.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, coaches, and disciplines managers and PACE staff.
  • Ensures staffing levels are maintained appropriately to provide safe and effective care.
  • Recommends staffing level changes related to strategic planning and budget development.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully and patiently with personnel, participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Able to function well and provide leadership in a highly team-based environment.
  • Able to communicate with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and medical and non-medical personnel.
  • Ability to organize work and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have cognitive ability to process and perform tasks for Participant safety.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to participate in extensive training as needed.
  • Three years of experience working in a managerial capacity.
  • Preferred 5 – 8 years of experience working in a managerial capacity in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience scheduling staff and/or dispatching.
  • Possess good organizational, communication and supervisory skills. Able to effectively handle difficult and unusual interpersonal situations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to participate in extensive training as needed.
  • Three years of experience working in a managerial capacity.
  • Preferred 5 – 8 years of experience working in a managerial capacity in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience scheduling staff and/or dispatching.
  • Possess good organizational, communication and supervisory skills. Able to effectively handle difficult and unusual interpersonal situations.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Works in well-lighted/ventilated office and therapy areas and may frequently operate company vehicles.
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Is subject to lifting, carrying, and supporting Participants.
  • Must be able to assist with the evacuation of Participants.

Employment Requirements: Successful completion of Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, PA DHS Child Abuse Clearance, Office of Inspector General check, and FBI Fingerprinting for Child Protective Services Law (at employer’s expense). Successful completion of post-offer employment drug screening and physical (at employer’s expense). CPR and First Aid Certification, or willing to obtain at employer’s expense. Individuals must have one year of prior experience caring for the frail elderly or willing to complete Company paid training to meet this requirement.
